Getting started

What is League Loom?

League Loom is a free, read-only AI connector for fantasy sports. It brings your ESPN, Sleeper, and Fantrax leagues into Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP-compatible AI tools so you can ask about rosters, waivers, matchups, standings, drafts, and lineup risk in plain language.

How do I connect Claude or ChatGPT to my fantasy league?

Add League Loom as a custom connector in your AI tool, paste the League Loom connector URL, and finish the setup wizard to pick your teams. The wizard discovers supported leagues, stores the selected teams in your own encrypted connection, and keeps the connector read-only.

Do I need a developer account, API keys, or to host anything?

No. League Loom is hosted for you. You add one connector URL in Claude, ChatGPT, or another MCP-compatible tool, then authorize and pick your teams. There is no server to run and no platform API key to manage.

Is League Loom free?

Yes. League Loom is free to use, with no paid tier. You can connect supported ESPN, Sleeper, and Fantrax leagues and ask read-only questions about them from your AI tool.

How long does it take to connect my league?

Most users can connect in about two minutes. Sleeper is usually fastest because it only needs your username. ESPN private leagues need your own ESPN cookies, and Fantrax league discovery can use a read-only Secret ID.

Claude and ChatGPT

Can I use ChatGPT or Claude for fantasy football?

Yes. League Loom connects ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI tools to your real fantasy football leagues, so answers can use your actual rosters, matchups, standings, and available players instead of generic rankings or pasted snapshots.

Do I have to paste my roster into ChatGPT?

No. ChatGPT and Claude cannot see your fantasy league by themselves, but League Loom gives them a live, read-only connection. You ask in plain language, and the AI can pull the current league data it needs.

Does League Loom work outside Claude and ChatGPT?

Yes. League Loom uses the Model Context Protocol, so it can work with MCP-compatible tools such as Cursor, Cline, Goose, Raycast, and other clients that support custom MCP servers or connectors.

What can I ask the AI about my fantasy teams?

Ask about start/sit decisions, waiver-wire adds, trade ideas, standings, draft results, weekly matchups, live scores, bye-week risk, injuries, roster holes, and how all of your teams are doing across every connected league.

Can the AI see all of my fantasy leagues at once?

Yes. League Loom is built for multi-league managers. A single question can aggregate your teams across ESPN, Sleeper, and Fantrax, then summarize standings, matchups, roster risk, and waiver options in one answer.

Should I trust the AI to make final roster decisions?

Use the AI as decision support, not an autopilot. League Loom gives the AI current league context, but you still choose the move. The connector is read-only, so the AI cannot submit lineups, trades, or waiver claims for you.

Platforms

Which fantasy platforms and sports does League Loom support?

League Loom supports ESPN, Sleeper, and Fantrax. ESPN supports NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and WNBA. Fantrax supports NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAAF, NCAAB, PGA, NASCAR, and EPL. Sleeper supports NFL and NBA. The capabilities page shows the exact live matrix.

Can I connect Fantrax to ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes. League Loom connects Fantrax leagues to Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP-compatible AI tools. Fantrax support includes rosters, standings, matchups for supported league formats, draft results, available players, and league discovery.

Does League Loom support ESPN private leagues?

Yes. Public ESPN leagues need no cookies. Private ESPN leagues use your own espn_s2 and SWID cookies so League Loom can read the league on your behalf. If those cookies expire, reconnect through setup with fresh values.

Do I need a Sleeper password?

No. Sleeper league data is public through Sleeper's read API, so League Loom only needs your Sleeper username to find your leagues and match your teams.

Does League Loom support Yahoo fantasy leagues?

Not today. League Loom currently supports ESPN, Sleeper, and Fantrax. Check the capabilities page for the current provider matrix before connecting a league.

Sports and data

Is my league data kept up to date?

League Loom reads provider data when the AI asks for it, so answers use the current roster, standings, matchup, draft, or player data available from that provider. It does not rely on an old roster pasted into a chat.

What player data is available?

ESPN player data includes identity, availability, ownership, season fantasy points, weekly fantasy points, projections, stat categories, and crosswalk IDs. Sleeper and Fantrax player-data rows are not enabled yet. The capabilities page is the source of truth.

Can League Loom find waiver-wire targets?

Yes. League Loom can list available players and waiver options where the provider supports it, then let the AI compare them against your roster needs and league context.

Does League Loom work with custom or dynasty leagues?

Usually, if the provider exposes the league through its read data. League Loom reads the league settings, rosters, standings, draft data, and matchups that the platform returns, including many custom formats.

Privacy and setup

Is League Loom safe? Can the AI change my lineup?

League Loom is read-only. It can read league data so the AI can answer questions, but it never sets lineups, adds or drops players, accepts trades, sends messages, or changes your fantasy accounts.

Where are my credentials stored?

Credentials are sealed into your own encrypted connection token, not stored in a shared database. Each user connects their own leagues, and the server reads only the data needed to answer the requested tool call.

Can I remove a league or reconnect later?

Yes. Use the setup flow again to choose the leagues and teams you want available to the connector. Reconnecting creates an updated encrypted connection for your AI tool.

Tools and prompts

What MCP tools can an AI call?

League Loom exposes read-only tools for provider catalogs, setup, league discovery, league info, rosters, standings, matchups, draft results, player search, available players, player data, team summaries, cross-league summaries, weekly digests, and setup management.

Does League Loom include ready-made prompts?

Yes. The prompt library includes copyable prompts for weekly newsletters, waiver reports, lineup checks, trade ideas, draft recaps, power rankings, and matchup summaries. Claude users can also use built-in League Loom prompts from the connector menu.

What connector URL should I paste into my AI tool?

Use https://leagueloom.com/mcp as the connector URL. Add it as a custom connector or MCP server, leave client credentials blank if the client asks for them, then finish authorization and setup.
